We’re delighted to offer graduates the opportunity to join the hospitality industry with our prestigious graduate scheme. We select graduates each year to join us as a Manager-in-training at one of our operational sites, and to take part in a rich programme of activities, field days, workshops, on the job training, and guided coaching. With a career mentor to support you on your journey, and the chance to gain your professional qualification along the way, our scheme ensures you have the best possible start to your career.

The programme

Our 3-year graduate scheme includes a range of activities and placements to help you learn the business side of contract catering, and the operations of various departments and functions:

Years 1 & 2:

Six month/one year placements in:

  • Operations
  • HR
  • Finance
  • Sales/Marketing

Year three:

A final placement in Operations or your chosen function, and entering into a professional qualification (CIM/CIPD/CIMA/NVQ level 4 in hospitality/similar if not covered by degree).

Final year

Your final year’s training would include action-based learning:

  • Core Compliance training, managing standards of service and training new team members
  • Completing supervisory duties and managing staff including running a section (FOH/Hospitality)
  • Completing daily and weekly paperwork including GP%, ordering, cashing up, scheduling, labour costing
  • Placement in sales and marketing, growing sales, looking at food trends, displays, labelling, variety, costing and GPs suppliers, guest feedback, innovation and entrepreneurship skills.

As a member of our graduate scheme you will enjoy:

  • Continuing Professional Development through further professional qualifications: HS L2 and 3 and FS level 2 and 3, CIPD, CIMA, CIM NVQs professional qualifications

  • Attendance at company events and meetings such as AGMs, Inn or Out Events and networking at Springboard as our company’s representative, plus attendance at schools and colleges to support school work placements.

And you’ll also get the chance to act as a mentor to the next successful graduate who joins the scheme.

Selection process:

Graduates are selected from a range of universities across the country. If you’re shortlisted, you’ll attend our development centre for an initial assessment. Three candidates will be selected for a trade test of one week’s paid work at our Head office in Egham, Reading or Canary Wharf, with a final interview taking place on the last day.
